Dylan has an LLB and BA from Auckland University and was admitted to the New Zealand Bar in 2024. 

Prior to joining Heaney and Partners, Dylan held roles working for a prominent barrister specialising in arbitration and mediation, and in commercial litigation at a well-regarded boutique firm. 

Dylan advises on a broad range of civil and commercial litigation matters, both contentious and non-contentious. He has a highly varied background, with experience in corporate and commercial litigation, construction disputes, non-contentious litigation advice, and general civil litigation. Dylan has appeared in all levels of the New Zealand court system as both a junior and sole counsel and has particular expertise in alternative dispute resolution methods such as arbitration and mediation. 

Dylan’s focus is on developing strong relationships with clients and facilitating bespoke solutions to fit his clients’ needs. No two issues in litigation are the same, and Dylan prides himself on being able to cut through the complexities of life and the law to deliver effective solutions, all the while supporting his clients and ensuring their needs are the paramount priority.
